About Ekalavya Shikshan Sanstha

Ekalavya Shikshan Sanstha was established in 1945 by the great freedom fighter Late Shri Madhavrao Nirali, who believed education to be the most powerful instrument for social upliftment. During India’s freedom movement, he devoted his life to awakening rural communities and encouraging socially backward sections in the Pathardi block to educate their children.

Our Journey

The Sanstha began its noble mission with the establishment of Hind Vasatigruha, a residential hostel for underprivileged boys in the drought-prone region of Ahmednagar. This initiative laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to inclusive and accessible education.

Over the years, the Sanstha expanded its educational footprint by establishing eight middle schools and a D.Ed. College across remote centres in Pathardi, bringing quality education closer to rural learners.

Expansion into Pune

In 1989–90, Ekalavya Shikshan Sanstha extended its vision to Pune, widely regarded as the mother city of education, with the establishment of its Polytechnic Institute. This milestone marked the Sanstha’s entry into technical and professional education.

Leadership & Legacy

Following the passing of Late Shri Madhavrao Nirali, leadership of the Sanstha was carried forward by Late Shri Babanrao Dhakane. With over 40 years of experience across social, political, educational, and industrial sectors, he transformed the Sanstha into a respected and model educational institution.

Under his guidance, the Sanstha strengthened its commitment to values-based education, institutional excellence, and social responsibility.

Our Commitment

Ekalavya Shikshan Sanstha continues to work with the vision of empowering communities through education, nurturing responsible citizens, and contributing meaningfully to national development.
